Why We Love Filming Product Videos

The hard evidence says that customers who view a video are 73% more likely to purchase the product featured. But more than that, we here at The Companion Group see product videos as a valuable tool to give our company a public face, a way to say hello and let our customers and retailers get to know us!

We make all of our videos in-house, by the people who know our products best, including folks like Nick Wellhausen, our Culinary Manager, and Cory Borovicka and Kwame Phillips-Solomon, our team of industrial designers. When on-camera, they demonstrate how to use our products and get the most out of them. Most of our videos are filmed in our office courtyard or atrium. Our courtyard serves many purposes; product testing, video and photo shoots as well as a beautiful garden to grow fresh flowers and herbs. Since we are based in Northern California we are blessed with temperate weather that works in our favor.

Sometimes it’s much easier to see something in action than it is to read a manual; one of our own employees said that when she got her own Pizzeria Pronto, she was able to assemble it in half the time predicted after watching our assembly video.

Our demo videos go up on our public YouTube channel for the world to see; it also makes them easy to share, whether it’s on our other social media networks (like Facebook, Twitter, or Google+), or by our customers. Our most popular videos are for our Pizza Cones (which recently hit 100,000 views!), our Stuffed Burgers, and our Himalayan Salt Plate – this kind of direct feedback is incredibly valuable when seeing what our customers like and want!

While our videos are directed at our products’ users, our retailers are also able to use them to train their employees on how to use and sell our tools. Our team also provides DVDs of our videos on request, and can even work to create original content for some of our clients.

And sometimes, our videos are just fun! Check out two of our most entertaining: first, a time capsule back to the beginnings of The Companion Group with a commercial we made back in 1984, and next, a video featuring a new product for Charcoal Companion, The Flipping Funny Talking Spatula!
